The Village hosted a highly successful Open House for the Home Repair & Accessibility Program (HRAP) Round 2 on Tuesday, September 30, 2025, from 4 pm - 7 pm at Village Hall. A total of 38 interested residents attended the event to learn about the assistance available for low-income homeowners.
The Open House detailed the three main categories of assistance, all designed to improve occupant well-being and preserve affordable housing stock:
Roof Repair/Replacement: Up to $25,000 available for roofing, soffit, fascia, gutters, and downspouts. This involves a three-year forgivable loan affordability period.
Full Rehabilitation: Up to $50,000 available for comprehensive repairs, including health and safety corrections, code violation fixes, major system replacements, and energy efficiency upgrades. This involves a five-year forgivable loan affordability period.
Accessibility Improvements: Up to $50,000 for full rehab scopes, which must include a minimum of 30% of costs dedicated to accessibility projects like ramps, lifts, or shower modifications. This program is unique in that it is also available to tenant-occupied households (with landlord agreement) where a senior citizen with a physical limitation or a person with a disability resides.
Attendees learned about the core eligibility requirement: households must be at or below 80% Area Median Income (AMI), with priority given to those at or below 50% AMI.
