On Wednesday, the Park Forest Tennis and Health Club announced its Spring Break Tennis Camp series and its Pickleball Open House this season.

Located at the corner of Sauk Trail and Westwood Drive, the Park Forest Tennis and Health serves as a regional facility that offers residents and non residents alike a place to play tennis, pickleball, and utilize exercise equipment. It plays host to local colleges and universities as a site for them to practice.

Later this month, the Park Forest Tennis and Health Club will host its Spring Break Tennis Camp which is designed for participants ages five and older. Campers are organized into specific age groups and skill levels to ensure a tailored experience. Throughout the camp, participants will learn essential fundamentals such as grip, stance, and footwork while also getting ample opportunity for match play, allowing them to apply their skills in a competitive setting.

Tennis and Health Club Manager Chris Tudor emphasizes the camp's goal of preparing players for their upcoming school tennis season by refining their technique and addressing any areas that require attention.

"We haven't held this camp in years, and we wanted to provide a valuable resource for high school students eager to enhance their game," Tudor said. "The exciting aspect of this camp is that we'll offer a variety of training activities, including drills, strategy sessions, and practice matches to keep participants engaged and motivated."

The camp sessions will run Monday through Friday from 9 to 11 a.m. over three different weeks: March 24 to March 28, March 31 to April 4, and April 21 to April 25. This structured schedule allows for consistent skill development and flexibility for families to choose the week that best fits their schedule.

Tudor said people can register by calling the Tennis and Health Club, and their payments can be made over the phone or at the start of camp—pricing ranges from $250 for one week to $450 for two weeks.

In addition to the Spring Break Tennis Camp, Tudor has announced that they will also host a Pickleball Open House. The first session, designated for ages 16 and up, is scheduled for Friday, April 4, from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. The second session, open to participants of all ages, will take place on Saturday, April 5, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Interested parties are encouraged to register, and registration will open on March 17. The event is free for Park Forest residents, while non-residents will be charged a fee of $7.

The event will include an introduction to Pickleball and its benefits. Tudor mentioned that various activities will be held, such as Pickleball demonstrations by experienced players, introductory clinics for new and beginner players, advanced skills workshops, free play sessions, paddle demonstrations, and the use of a Pickleball ball machine.

For more information on how to register, call the Park Forest Tennis and Health Club at 708-481-6060.
