The Park Forest Tennis and Health Club has recently undergone an extensive refurbishment this fall, with an investment of approximately $50,000 aimed at enhancing the facility’s overall appeal and functionality. Looking ahead, new services and offerings are scheduled to be introduced in early 2025.
Club Manager Chris Tudor, who has been with the Village for nearly a year, is dedicated to revitalizing the facility. His vision includes not only upgrading exercise equipment but also providing a modernized lobby that welcomes all residents.
“We want every resident to have the opportunity to come here and get an excellent workout,” Tudor emphasized.
To further enhance the fitness experience, Tudor is working on bringing in a certified personal trainer in the new year to launch a comprehensive gym membership program.
At present, residents can access the Park Forest Tennis and Health Club for a nominal fee of $5. This fee grants them access to a variety of fitness equipment, including bench and squat racks, treadmills, elliptical machines, and stationary bikes.
Tudor highlighted that the club's offerings extend beyond tennis; it also serves as a venue for playing pickleball, renting event space for parties and gatherings, and now provides a workout area for health-conscious individuals.
The four-month renovation project received funding and approval from the Park Forest Board of Trustees, reflecting the community's commitment to enhancing local recreational facilities. With construction now complete, Tudor has plans to introduce additional amenities that will cater to a broader range of needs.
"I'm looking to add a nail technician service upstairs,” Tudor shared. “Imagine this: residents will be able to come here not only for fitness but also to enjoy various personal care services. We aim to become a true one-stop shop for our residents’ needs.”
The Park Forest Tennis and Health Club is conveniently located at 290 Westwood Drive and operates on weekdays from 7:30 a.m. to 10 p.m., with varied hours on weekends to accommodate different schedules.
