The Village of Park Forest will hold its Regular Meeting at Village Hall on Monday, Jan. 27, at 7 p.m.

During this meeting, the Park Forest Fire Department will conduct a swearing-in ceremony for Firefighter/Paramedic Kyle Haemker. He began his fire service journey as an explorer in 2004 with the Crete Fire Department. In 2008, he joined the Crete Township Fire Protection District, where he served until 2023. Haemker worked full-time for the Bradley Fire Department from 2021 to 2024 and also had a brief tenure with the Lemont Fire Protection District before being hired by Park Forest. Haemker expressed his enthusiasm for a long and prosperous career alongside the dedicated members of the Park Forest Fire Department.

In addition to the swearing-in ceremony, Park Forest's Economic Development Advisory Group will announce the 2024 Sam Montella Business Person of the Year Award. This annual award recognizes Park Forest business owners for their contributions to the community through charitable work and service. Since its inception, more than a dozen individuals have received this honor.

Apart from the ceremonies, there are two items on the consent agenda, both stemming from the Public Works Department. The Park Forest Board of Trustees is expected to vote on a motion to allow the department to purchase two 2025 Ford E-Transit 350 Cargo Vans to replace two existing vehicles. Additionally, they will vote on an extra $35,000 that the department is seeking to finalize the Engineering Services Agreement Amendment for the construction engineering services related to the Water Plant Elevated Tower Replacement Project.
