Park Forest 75th Anniversary Gala recap

Village of Park Forest - Economic Development & Planning News Posted on October 08, 2024

The Village of Park Forest hosted a gala and concert in late September to celebrate its 75th anniversary.

Community Relations Manager Evelyn Randle said the event served two purposes: commemorating the Village's 75 years and raising money for various entities, including the Park Forest Historical Society, Park Forest Veterans Closet and Resource Center, and the Village's Department of Recreation, Parks & Community Health.

"It was a successful evening, and I appreciate our sponsors," Randle said. "Everything came together nicely, from our advertisement books, which were created by B Allan Graphics, to centerpieces made by Phil Perkins, and of course, the cake from HiWay Bakery. I'm pleased everyone enjoyed the event."

Randle said the night concluded with singer Teresa Griffin wowing the crowd with her soulful tunes. She added they are still counting how much money was raised. Randle said it's clear each organization will benefit from the gala and concert.

"The goal is to give back," Randle said. "Once all of the proceeds are calculated, we will divide that evenly to ensure the Park Forest Historical Society, Park Forest Veterans Closet and Resource Center, and the Village's Department of Recreation, Parks & Community Health get funding."
