The Sustainability Office of the Village of Park Forest is inviting residents to participate in the Annual Community Clean-up on April 6.
According to the Sustainability Coordinator, Carrie Malfeo, the participants will gather at Village Hall to receive their location
assignments, instructions, and supplies. Malfeo emphasized the importance of the community coming together to clean up the Village.
"Living in a clean environment makes life healthier, less stressful, and more pleasant," Malfeo said. "An unkempt neighborhood is an undesirable place to live and work, and we don't want Park Forest to become one of those places."
Last year, terrible weather conditions hampered participation. In 2022, 28 people participated and collected 51 bags of garbage. Malfeo said she would like to see more residents come out to help clean up the Village.
Malfeo added that volunteers could sign up by clicking here, and this is a perfect opportunity for people to meet their service hours goals. She also reminded residents to dress for the weather and bring gloves and a reusable water bottle if they have them.
The Annual Community Clean Up is on Saturday, April 6, at 9 a.m.
