INVITATION FOR BIDS

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN by the Mayor and Board of Trustees of the Village of Park Forest, Cook and Will Counties, Illinois that sealed bids will be received for the following contract:

INSTALLATION OF THREE 12” INSERTION VALVES

Sealed bids will be received until 2:30 P.M., Thursday, April 9, 2026, at the office of the Director of Public Works, Village of Park Forest, 350 Victory Drive, Park Forest, Illinois, and will be publicly opened and read at that time.

Bid forms, plans, and specifications are available at the office of the Director of Public Works, Village of Park Forest, 350 Victory Drive, Park Forest, Illinois. Bid forms, plans, and specifications are also available to view for free at the Village website, www.vopf.com under “Bids and RFPs” link.  

This work consists of: All mobilization, material, labor, equipment and incidentals necessary to install three 12” insertion valves on the Village owned water main at locations directed by the Village.

The Village reserves the right to refuse to issue plans, bid forms, and specifications to any person, firm, or corporation that it considers to be unqualified.  Proposals must be submitted on the forms provided.   No bid shall be withdrawn after the opening of bids without the consent of the Mayor and Board of Trustees of the Village of Park Forest. The Village reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids, to waive any informalities or irregularities in the bids, and to make such award as it may deem to be in the best interest of the Village.

The contractor shall be required to furnish sufficient insurance and guaranty of indemnity to the Village of Park Forest, Illinois against any and all claims which might arise for damages to persons or property due to the negligence of himself, his employees, or his agents during the construction of said improvement and until said improvement has been fully accepted as complete by the Mayor and Board of Trustees of the Village of Park Forest.

No less than the prevailing rate of wages as determined by the Department of Labor or determined by the court on review shall be paid to all laborers, workmen and mechanics performing work under this contract. The Village of Park Forest is located in Cook and Will Counties.
