Thirteen Park Forest businesses are in the holiday spirit and decorated their windows and doors as part of the Winter Windows contest, sponsored by the Economic Development Advisory Group and DownTown Park Forest. The contest was open to all Park Forest businesses and ran from December 7-17. Based on popular vote the winners are:
First Place - Shakin My Head Studio, owned and operated by Yvette Lindsey
Second Place - Park Forest Podiatry, owned and operated by Dr. Ramin Ghazizadeh and decorated by Janell Stolzenbach
Third Place - Park Forest Chiropractic LTD, owned and operated by Dr. David Tyssen and decorated by Ann and Sue
Honorable mention - Step By Step, The Spa for Your Mind, PC owned and operated by Tamika Hill
A lucky resident also won $75 for coming out and voting. CONGRATULATIONS to all the winners!
EDAG member Denise Williams-Harvey worked with Heather Jones, DownTown Manager to organize and promote the event. In addition to Park Foresters, residents of Alsip, Beecher, Chicago, Chicago Heights, Crete, Flossmoor, Hazel Crest, Homewood, Kankakee, Lansing, Matteson, Oak Forest, Orland Hills, Plainfield, Richton Park, Sauk Village, South Chicago Heights, Steger and University Park voted on their favorite window. “I am truly pleased to see that DownTown businesses attract visitors and shoppers from the region. I would like to encourage more shoppers to visit, dine and shop in Park Forest,” said Sandra Zoellner, Director of Economic Development and Planning.

The EDAG meets on the second Wednesday of each month. The public is invited and the Village is seeking volunteers to fill vacancies.
