The Village of Park Forest hosts "Night on Town" Saturday on the Village Green from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., giving residents another opportunity to enjoy summer.
Park Foresters are invited to the game night-themed event, offering giveaways, contests, and horseback riding. Community Relations Coordinator Evelyn Randle said the goal is to get residents more engaged and connected while summer weather is still around.
"Despite the sweltering weather we've had this week, the fall and cold months of winter are on the horizon," Randle said. "So, 'Night on the Town' is another way for everyone in Park Forest to enjoy themselves and soak up the last days of summer."
Randle said that although registration was initially required, it no longer is, so all are welcome to participate in the event.
Some giveaways include a water bill credit, an air fryer, a pop-up tent, a mini fridge, and a Bose portable speaker. Randle said there will be other prizes, too.
"We're going all out this year," Randle said. "Also, we're having a scavenger hunt. We'll play Bingo but with a twist. We'll have something for everyone."
Meteorologists predict Saturday will be mostly sunny skies and a high of around 77 degrees.
"Night on Town" is Saturday on the Village Green, located at the corner of Main Street and Cunningham Drive, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
