The Village of Park Forest was recently notified that its audit – also known as the Certified Annual Financial Report – for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2014 has been recognized to receive the Certificate of Excellence in Financial Reporting from the Illinois Government Finance Officers Association. This latest awarding of the Certificate of Excellence in Financial Reporting makes 19 consecutive years that the Village has received the recognition.
“The Village of Park Forest takes very serious its role as stewards of the public trust and public tax dollars. To be recognized with the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting is an honor. It is one that is received as a result of much hard work by Village Officials – in particular Director of Finance Mary Dankowski and Assistant Finance Director Stephanie Masson. The Village receiving such recognition for 19 consecutive years puts Park Forest in very select company across not only Illinois but the entire country,” said Village Manager Tom Mick.
The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in governmental accounting and financial reporting, and its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by a government and its management.
Park Forest has also received the Distinguished Budget Award for 20 consecutive years.
