What to expect at the Nov. 17 Park Forest board meeting

The Park Forest Board of Trustees will meet Monday, Nov. 17, at 7 p.m. at Village Hall, 350 Victory Drive, to consider several measures, including the Aqua Center, Village finances, and DownTown redevelopment and business licensing. 

Consent Agenda

The board is expected to approve the minutes of the Oct. 20 regular meeting and Nov. 1 rules meeting, award a contract for a commercial kitchen hood installation at 331 Founders Way to YAD Construction LLC for $53,640 once a tenant lease is signed, and approve appointments and an hourly-rate increase for three adjudication hearing officers. 

Tax-Levy Ordinances (First Readings)

  • An ordinance levying taxes for all corporate purposes for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2026, and ending June 30, 2027, will be introduced. 
  • An ordinance to abate (reduce) a portion of the 2025 tax levy will also be introduced for first reading. 

Capital Project Authorization

The board will consider a motion to authorize execution of a letter of proposal with Williams Architects for architectural and engineering services associated with the redevelopment of the Aqua Center, with a capped construction budget of $10 million. 

Business Licensing Discussion

A discussion item on the agenda addresses business renewal registration and license-fee structure in the village.
