The Village of Park Forest is expressing its appreciation for residents this June with a variety of activities, including weekly raffles, a community barbecue, and the return of the summer concert series, Main Street Nights, on the Village Green.
Each week of the month will feature a new raffle with prizes ranging from utility bill credits to Park Forest merchandise. This celebration is part of Resident Appreciation Month, which aims to honor the contributions of those who call the village home.
From June 2 to 6, residents can enter a raffle to win a $50 credit on their water bills. To participate, residents must visit Village Hall, complete a raffle ticket, and drop it in the box located in the lobby. Ten winners will be selected.
The following week, from June 9 to 13, residents can enter a drawing for a surprise basket filled with assorted goodies. Evelyn Randle, the community relations coordinator, stated that the contents will remain a mystery. "It's a surprise," Randle noted. Five winners will be chosen.
On Wednesday, June 11, Park Forest will kick off its summer Main Street Nights series, an annual outdoor event featuring live music, food vendors, and movie nights. This series will take place on Wednesday evenings at the Village Green, located at Cunningham and Main streets.
To launch the concert series, the Village will host a Resident Appreciation Barbecue for the first 500 residents starting at 5:30 p.m.
Giveaways will continue during the week of June 16 to 20, with a raffle for Park Forest-themed merchandise such as cups, fans, mugs, and tote bags. Ten winners will be drawn.
In the final week of June, from June 23 to 27, there will be a raffle for gift cards to local businesses. Five winners will receive gift cards with values ranging from $5 to $50.
