PUBLIC COMMENT NOTICE
IEPA FUNDING OF WATER MAIN IMPROVEMENTS AT VARIOUS LOCATIONS AND ELEVATED TANK
VILLAGE OF PARK FOREST, ILLINOIS
1. Purpose of the Project
The purpose of this project is to install approximately 8,800 lineal feet of new 8-inch water main at various locations throughout the Village and to replace the existing reservoir at the Park Forest Water Plant with an elevated storage tank. These water main replacements will improve overall water system performance, will increase quality, and will decrease the number of water main breaks each year. The replacement of the existing reservoir with an elevated tank will help prevent leaks and reduce waste in the system. The projects will be funded through a loan from the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency (IEPA) and the project cost is estimated to be $5,000,000.
2. Review of Documents
A public hearing will be held at Park Forest Village Hall, 350 Victory Drive, Park Forest, IL 60466 on Tuesday, Dec.1, from 3 to 4 p.m. The Preliminary Environmental Impacts Determination and the Project Plan will be made available at the hearing. These documents are also available at:

Persons can view them between now and the end of the public comment period which is ten (10) days after the Dec. 1, 2020 Public Hearing date.
3. Public Comment Period
During this comment period (10 days after the December 1st public hearing), written comments may be provided to the Village of Park Forest or directly to the IEPA. Contact information for the Village and IEPA is provided below.
