Community Cleanup: April 1 -30
- We are collaborating with Chicago Southland communities on a community-wide cleanup.
- Grab some gloves and bags, invite your social bubble, and help give Park Forest a spring cleaning!
- Complete the Community Cleanup BINGO and EARTH DAY BINGO with family and friends!
Besides cleaning up your neighborhood block, please consider the following locations in Park Forest that are in need of some sprucing up:

Do you have a lot of plastic pots that you use for gardening that you need to get rid of?
Give them new life! Recycle them in the collection box at Village Hall!

Seasons at Thorn Creek Woods: April 10, 10:30 AM -12 PM
Discover the woods in a new way. Join naturalists to explore the woods and track seasonal changes throughout the year. Observe birds and insects, identify trees and flowers, follow tracks, and much more.
Meet in front of the nature center. Please bring your own hand sanitizer, a face mask, binoculars and a water bottle and be prepared to follow the social distancing protocol of 6 feet.

Participants should be able to walk 2 miles outdoors on natural surface trails across uneven terrain. Trails can be wet, muddy, icy and snow covered. Anyone who requires an auxiliary aid or service to participate in this program should call 708.747.6320.
Unitarian Universalist Community Church (UUCC) Virtual Green Sanctuary Forum: April 11, 11:30 AM - 1 PM
Join for a lively virtual forum on the potential of hydrogen as a green energy resource.

EARTH DAY at Thorn Creek: Amphibians: April 17, 2-4 PM
Join our Earth Day hike at 2 p.m. to explore woodland vernal ponds and wetlands while listening for the calls of the wetland inhabitants! Learn which frogs, toads and salamanders live in these woods and why water is so important to them.
Meet in front of the nature center. This event is sponsored by the Jim Marzuki Fund for Public Programming. Please bring your own hand sanitizer, a face mask, binoculars and a water bottle and be prepared to follow the social distancing protocol of 6 feet.

Prairie Sampler and Trail Workday: April 25, 1-3 PM
Get down and dirty at our Thorn Creek workday. Help repair boardwalks, maintain trails, or weed and nurture our prairie sampler and butterfly gardens. Bring gloves, favorite tools and dress for the weather. Please bring your own hand sanitizer, face mask, binoculars, water bottle and be prepared to follow the social distancing of 6 feet. Trail work is on natural surface trails across uneven terrain. Trails can be wet, muddy and slippery.
Ages 13 – adult, children under 15 must be accompanied by an adult; 9 participants maximum.
