Join the Park Forest Recreation & Parks Advisory Board and Recreation & Parks Department in celebrating the National Wildlife Federation’s Great American Campout, June 25-26 with an overnight campout in Park Forest’s beautiful Central Park. The 17th annual Great American Campout is a nationwide event that connects people with the great outdoors. Whether this is your first camping experience or you and your family are seasoned campers, this event is a great way for friends, families, and children to connect with nature, sleep under the stars and create memories of outdoor experiences. What’s Included?  
Recreation, Parks & Community Health will provide grills, firewood and charcoal for cooking, wood for the
campfire, S’mores and supplies for activities.

Activities - Friday activities include Family Playtime, Campfire, S’mores and view the Full Moon.
Saturday activities include a nature craft as well as practicing useful skills such as camping first aid, useful
camping knots and rope work with members of the Park Forest Fire Department.  

What should campers bring?
Families will need to supply tent, sleeping gear, eating utensils, food, and personal kit. Campers must provide their dinner and breakfast. A limited number of tents are available to rent for $10.00 each. 

Set-up Instructions
Set-up begins at 4:00 pm Friday afternoon June 25. Park in the Aqua Center parking lot, 30 North Orchard Dr., near the north bridge. 

How to Register?
Pre-registration and signed waiver required for each person attending. There must be at least 1 adult per campsite. Registration deadline: June 21, 2021. For more information contact Rob Gunther at 708-748-2005.
