Review & Approval

Village staff from various departments oversee development proposals:

  • Community Development
  • Economic Planning
  • Fire
  • Police
  • Public Works
  • Recreation & Health

Planning and Zoning Commission and the Board of Trustees also review certain actions. Commission meetings are on the second and fourth Tuesdays; Board meetings are on the first, third, and fourth Mondays.

Getting Started

Contact the Economic Development and Planning Department early. Shared information remains confidential until formal applications are submitted.

Follow these steps for subdivision or new construction:

  • Familiarize yourself with Village rules
  • Arrange a concept meeting for project consultation
  • Prepare detailed plans, including a site plan
  • Submit preliminary and final engineering and building plans
  • Establish a letter of credit if needed
  • Begin construction after permit approval
