Park Forest's World World II Veteran History
The Village of Park Forest is rich in history despite its relatively young age. It is one of America’s first “planned communities,” and was created in order to house returning Veterans of World War II. The founders of the community decided to name 18 streets after Illinois Veterans who were awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor (CMH) in World War II. Those award winners are as follows.
The Village hopes this information will provide some insight into one piece of your community’s history. Please click on any of the above names for more information. |
