Trip Registration Information


•Recreation & Parks Department will need name, date of birth, address, phone number, and emergency number
 of each person registering for a trip.

•Trip return times are approximate and may change due to unforeseen circumstances and traffic.

•Refunds for trips may vary due to non-refundable tickets or fees. Refund requests made prior to the start date of a trip will be cheerfully given less a 5% refund fee. Cancellations made by Recreation & Parks are not subject to the 5% refund fee.

•Nothing kills a good trip quicker than waiting until the last minute to register! Please sign up early or the trip
 that you want may have to be cancelled.

HAMILTON Show and Lunch at Petterino's 

Hamilton Trip is filled.  Please call Recreation & Parks at 708-748-2005 to be placed on the waiting list (2 tickets per person).

HAMILTON is the story of America's Founding Father Alexander Hamilton, an immigrant from the West Indies who became George Washington's right-hand man during the Revolutionary War and was the new nation's first Treasury Secretary. Featuring a score that blends hip-hop, jazz, blues, rap, R&B, and Broadway, HAMILTON is the story of America then, told by America now."

HAMILTON will take place at The PrivateBank Theatre and will be balcony seating.

Prior to the show, we will be dining at Petterino's, where you will have a meal choice of Chicken Parmesan with Pasta, Potato Gnocchi with Tomato Vodka Sauce or Broiled Salmon with Sautéed Spinach. Please mention meal choice when registering.

Drake Hotel Historic Tour and Afternoon Tea
The Drake Hotel History Tour & Tea is a hotel guided tour, where the tales from the 1920’s throughout the decades are recounted, so guests can envision the past and fancy in the legendary Afternoon Tea Service in the impressive Palm Court.  The Drake’s History Tour & Tea is a throwback to nearly a century of stories, narrated in a theatrical fashion by the History Tour & Tea guide.  The History Tour & Tea encompasses architecture, ghost stories, crimes of the times, celebrities, entertainment and more. It is approximately one hour long.  There will be a selection of tea and finger sandwiches to enjoy during the day.  Fee includes tea, tour and motor coach transportation. In celebration of Fat Tuesday, treat yourself to a Mardi Gras party at the Jacob Henry Mansion in Joliet.  Lunch will be comprised of homemade Jambalaya over rice with southern corn bread. While there, enjoy the toe tapping music of New Orleans with the Four Star Brass Band as they bring the Louisiana sizzle to Joliet. Don't forget your boas, beads and umbrellas! Registration deadline:  February 20.

Come out and see the Chicago Bulls stars Dwayne Wade and Jimmy Butler face off against talents such as the Houston Rockets James Harden at the United Center. Chicago Flower and Garden Show
The 2017 theme CHICAGO’S BLOOMING will spotlight all that is wonderful about Chicago's unique neighborhoods and urban green spaces. The Show treats 40,000+ gardening enthusiasts and newbies alike to the sights, scents and sounds of feature gardens with blooming perennials, annuals and trees while water features rustle throughout the Festival Halls of Chicago’s acclaimed Navy Pier. There will be over 100 vendors of gardening, landscaping products, educational seminars, cooking demonstrations and more.

You will also have time to explore Navy Pier's wide variety of shops and the Stained Glass Windows Museum.

Lunch is on your own. Fee includes motor coach transportation and admission to the show. Registration deadline: March 6.

Big Band Radio Show at The Jacob Henry Mansion Estate

Take a step back in time at the Jacob Henry Mansion, a historical city, state and national landmark, where you can enjoy a self-guided tour of over 40 rooms. Then relive the glorious 1930's Swing Era with a "live radio broadcast show" by The Alan Gresik Swing Shift Orchestra, complete with vocalists and radio actor.

Boerner Botanical Gardens
Come enjoy the beautiful sights at Boerner Botanical Gardens in Hales Corners, Wisconsin, where the setting is reminiscent of an English country manor with glacial fieldstone walls and historic, handcrafted limestone statuary. The tour includes over forty acres of formal gardens, one of the largest crab apple collections in Wisconsin, over 500 varieties of roses and many other individual gardens including herbs, annuals, shrubs and peonies.

Lunch will consist of: mixed greens and a roasted vegetable medley tossed in house made Italian vinaigrette, a pan-seared chicken breast served with sweet potato mash with a rosemary grape compote and for dessert a pastry tart with chocolate mousse and warm strawberry sauce.

Fee includes admission, a guided tour, lunch and motor coach transportation. Registration deadline: May 22.
