PLANNING FOR THE FUTURE, SEPT. 15
A program aimed to educate seniors on planning for the future will be held on Sept. 15, 2016, from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m., at Park Forest’s Village Hall, 350 Victory Drive. Speakers from the Legal Assistance Foundation of Metropolitan Chicago will be on hand to share details on:
• How to create an estate will. • How to create a power of attorney for health care, and a power of attorney for property• What is a living will? • How to establish a trust for property owned, versus a transfer on death instrument.• How to obtain legal guardianship as a caregiver for an adult, a child, or senior. • How to establish an agreement with social security to become the representative payee for a family member with dementia.

DE-STRESS COMMUNITY FORUM, OCT. 20
A hands-on, community seminar for understanding how to minimize signs of stress takes place on Thursday, October 20, 2016, from 1 to 3 p.m., in the Board Room of Park Forest’s Village Hall, 350 Victory Drive. Scheduled speakers at the event include Felecia Houston, Behavioral Health Consultant at Ingalls Memorial Hospital, and Jenise Ervin, Director of Public Health for the Park Forest Health Department Nurses Plus. How to identify signs of stroke or heart attack will also be discussed.
