Gardening lecture on backyard fruits, August 15

Park Forest’s gardening lecture series continues on Saturday, August 15 with a session on backyard fruits. Dr. James Theuri from the University of Illinois will teach attendees how to successfully raise different fruit varieties in your own backyard.

The free lecture series, presented by the Village of Park Forest in collaboration with the Park Forest Environment Commission, Thorn Creek Nature Center, and the University of Illinois Extension, provides area residents with gardening education from experts.

The final scheduled dates and topic areas of the series are:

September 19 - Harvesting Techniques & Workday
October 17 - Basics of Composting

All lectures take place from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at Park Forest’s Village Hall, 350 Victory Drive. For questions, call 708-748-1112.
