Village to distribute free masks to Park Forest residents in need on May 1

Mask On Park Forest

As part of the extension of Illinois’ stay-at-home order, a new requirement will take effect May 1 mandating that anyone over the age of 2 is required to wear a mask in public when unable to maintain a distance of six feet from others.

The Village of Park Forest will help residents prepare for this change by distributing free masks (while supplies last) this Friday, May 1, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., at Village Hall. Please note that this event is intended for Park Forest residents only.

To participate, residents should:

  • Arrive at Village Hall inside of a vehicle
  • Pull up to the south doors of Village Hall, facing Orchard Drive, and remain in vehicle
  • Show proof of Park Forest residency, preferably a Park Forest vehicle sticker

Residents are urged to continue to limit trips outside of the home during the stay-at-home order. When essential outings are necessary, be sure to protect yourself and others by adhering to the new state requirement of wearing a mask.

Wearing a mask can save your life and others’ lives.
