Risk Watch is an unintentional injury prevention program developed by the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) and Lowes Home Safety Council. The program is taught to children in grades Pre-K through 8th Grade by teachers together with a coalition of safety experts in the classroom setting. Each month during the school year the school focuses on a different objective. The eight objectives include motor vehicle safety, fire and burn prevention, choking and suffocation prevention, poisoning prevention, falls prevention, firearms injury prevention, bike and pedestrian safety and water safety. The Park Forest Fire Department has been coordinating and instructing classes in all grade levels at Arcadia School in Olympia Fields for the past three years.
